(Universität Tübingen) zum Thema* „Elevational deixis in narrative: data
from East Caucasian“* im *Raum 301, Ernst-Abbe-Platz 8*, statt.

*Kurze Annotation:*
The goal of our study is to explore the use of elevational demonstratives
in narratives. We consider the use of demonstrative pronouns in two
distantly related languages of the East Caucasian (Nakh-Daghestanian)
language family, Mehweb (Dargwa) and Tukita (Andic). We find that both
languages use elevational demonstratives in narratives, but strongly differ
in the patterns of their use. We also find variation in the choice of
demonstrative pronouns across the speakers within each of the two
languages.
