Hi Thomas,

you are absolutely right, creating (or adapting) a metadata structure is
certainly one of the first tasks when setting up a BEXIS 2 instance for
a project. There are some very basic example XSDs shipped with the
application, but I guess we can provide you with some more complex ones
from our projects (BE, iDiv). I'll check on that and let you know tomorrow.

Ideally, the schema should come in a single XSD file with no external
references (see the online help for Data Collection, section 5). If the
schema is spread over multiple files, all files should be pushed to the
server first by using the "Push Big File" Upload.

Once the import metadata wizard has been completed successfully, the new
schema will be available, for example, in the Create Dataset Workflow.
The metadata entry form is automatically created by the application
based on the element definition in the XSD.

In order to make the Search work with the new schema mappings between
the metadata elements of the schema and new (or existing) search
attributes are needed. Please open the Search Manager from the Settings
Menu and follow the instructions in the help.

If you need any further help, feel free to contact us any time.

Best regards,
Roman
