Dear colleagues,<br>

in July 2025, Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruñ will once again  <br>

organize a summer school for foreign students. The program is of a  <br>

research and workshop nature, but there are also traditional lectures  <br>

planned from various areas of humanities and social sciences, as well  <br>

as many integration events (joint meetings in a restaurant, visits to  <br>

museums and tourist attractions of our medieval city).<br>

<br>

Our university covers 28 daily allowances of PLN 70 each and  <br>

accommodation in a student dormitory at the Toruñ or Bydgoszcz campus.  <br>

A tax of 10% of the total prize amount shall be deducted from the  <br>

total amount of granted funds. At current prices, this amount is  <br>

sufficient to fully cover the costs of meals in Toruñ, and all  <br>

attractions organized as part of the summer school are free of charge  <br>

for students (paid for in addition to the granted allowances).<br>

<br>

Students choose one of the projects managed by a researcher from NCU  <br>

and, in cooperation with him, they carry it out for 4 weeks, and at  <br>

the end they present a research report in the form of a short  <br>

presentation. Many projects end with longer cooperation and lead,  <br>

among others, to joint publications (THUS thematic block working  <br>

papers in the journal Theoria et Historia Scientiarum -  <br>

<a href="https://apcz.umk.pl/THS" id="LPlnk962086" previewremoved="true">https://apcz.umk.pl/THS</a>) or postgraduate studies in Toruñ. However, it

can also be treated simply as an interesting adventure and an  <br>

opportunity to visit Toruñ and other Polish cities, because apart from  <br>

common classes, students really have a lot of free time.<br>

The deadline for the applications is March 9th, 2025, and the lists of  <br>

qualified students will be announced by the end of March. There is  <br>

always a reserve list, and if someone of the qualified withdraws, it  <br>

is possible to join the project at a later date.<br>

The working language of the summer school is English, but in  <br>

individual cases, other languages might be used as well, depending on  <br>

the project supervisor's and students' competencies.<br>
