<b>Kashubian as a Regional Language Dominated by Polish</b><br>
<i>The lecture will be devoted to the Kashubian language spoken
in northern Poland, which has the status of a regional
language. Particular consideration will be given to the origin
and development of Kashubian, as well as its function and
usage in various spheres of social life. Attention will also
be paid to the phenomenon of the breakdown of the
intergenerational transmission of the regional language in the
Kashubian community as well as to the attempts to revive the
endangered Kashubian. Presentation of the contemporary
sociolinguistic situation in the northern Polish bilingual
area will also cover the issue of the influence of Polish on
Kashubian.</i><br>
