From bexis2-users at listserv.uni-jena.de Fri Apr 4 20:39:01 2025 From: bexis2-users at listserv.uni-jena.de (bexis2-users at listserv.uni-jena.de) Date: Fri, 4 Apr 2025 20:39:01 +0200 Subject: [BEXIS2-Users] BEXIS2 version 4.0.0 Message-ID: Dear all, We are happy to announce that we released *version 4.0.0* today! Unfortunately, it took longer than initially planned. However, we were able to close more than 120 tickets, mainly fixing bugs or improving the usability of the new functions and features since version 3.0.0., focusing on the *area of dataset creation and upload* introduced. While opening ticket number 2000, we also solved one of our older, bigger issues (#93) related to the editing of metadata and sessions. The full list of changes and fixes can be found here: https://github.com/BEXIS2/Core/releases/tag/4.0.0 For version 4, we started to improve and refactor our documentation. This process is still ongoing, and we will continue to fill in the missing sections as thoroughly as possible over the coming months. Since there are now numerous configuration parameters that can be set via the UI, we have added a dedicated section that summarizes all of them, making the initial customization process more straightforward. You can find the current version of the documentation here: https://demo.bexis2.uni-jena.de/home/docs/general/ or in your updated instance later under help->documentation. In the following weeks after Eastern vacation, Sven and David will update all instances to the new version. Many thanks to all who contributed to the current version with suggestions, bug reports, documentation contributions, and finally also writing all the lines of code. Your BEXIS2 team -- Dipl.-Geogr.
